Fiery Rhubarbs

Wollmeise is da b0mb! The knitted fabric just feels divine.

usual details:
Wollmeise Rhabarber sockenwolle (med-dark intensity)
Judy's magic cast on for the toes
72 st count
extra cable repeat in the foot
size 2.25 & 2.50 mm (US 1 & "1.5") Knitpick circulars

The only problem I had this time around is that I seemed to get some laddering when I picked up the gusset stitches (both on the p2tog k2tbl sides) and I don't know why. I didn't have this issue with my STR medium weight pair. I'm assuming they'll even out as time goes on.

The socks look great! I haven't tried Wollmeise yet, but it's on my 'must try this yarn' list. Particularly because I can have them ship it to my mother in Germany, who will then forward it to me at much smaller cost!

About the laddering... When I pick up gusset stitches, I make them really, really tight. The other thing that sometimes works is picking up only the front leg (the one facing you) of the stitch and knitting into the back of it, which twists the stitch and closes holes. One of these methods usually works for me.

The Firestarters are toe up, so it's a reverse gusset/heel flap construction. I'm just not sure why I had those elongated stitches on this pair vs my STR med weight pair. Maybe because the next stitch was a purl.

Ah, how I love Wollmeise. It's so nice to have SO much yarn to work with. I can't say that I really enjoy knitting with it but the fabric is wonderful once it's washed and makes the warmest socks.

These are lovely socks!
